About Us

For over twenty years In the Best Interest of the Children (IBIC) has provided an educational seminar in South Georgia as a support to families who are experiencing divorce. Per the order the class is required for parties experiencing divorce as well as parties in all separate maintenance, paternity, changes of custody, visitation, legitimation and other domestic relations actions where the interests of children under 18 years of age are involved.

IBIC is a class designed to help you and your former spouse understand some of the feelings that you and your child are experiencing during the process of divorce. More importantly the class will help you understand the critical role you and your former spouse will play in helping your child heal from the hurt caused by the break-up of your marriage.

During the presentation the following objectives will be discussed:

  1. Understanding the perspective of a child in this process
  2. Do’s and Don’ts of successful co-parenting
  3. The importance of modeling
  4. Being child centered is key
  5. The importance of taking care of yourself
  6. Understanding the economic impacts of divorce on children
